The real problem is the preservative system. This Free + Clear formula contains methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone, both strong skin sensitizers, alongside an optical brightener and an undisclosed fragrance. Branch Basics does not publish an independent lab test for 1,4-dioxane and carries no third-party certification yet, though its ingredient list has none of the ethoxylated surfactants that create that contamination in the first place.
