The Blendtec Total Classic uses Tritan copolyester — the same BPA-free plastic found across the premium blender category. The material is confirmed free of BPA, but Mamavation, an independent health-testing organization, found trace chemical migration from Tritan under standard conditions and advises keeping this blender away from hot liquids and acidic foods.

The biggest gap is the seal and gasket: the rubber ring at the base of the jar contacts your food directly on every blend, and Blendtec doesn't disclose what it's made of anywhere we could find.
