R3 was founded by Lori Ford, who built it after hitting the same wall every parent does: the choice between blogs that treat every ingredient as a hidden danger and lists quietly sorted by commission.

She is the person accountable for the standard, which is that every product in a category gets judged the same way, with the scoring public and no brand able to pay for a better rank.

The reviews and guides are written through a research persona named Renée, a research-geek mom whose job is to keep complex evidence readable. Renée is a voice, not a credential. She is not a doctor or a certified scientist, and no score depends on her opinion, because the same scoring system produces the same score for the same product every time.

We don’t run our own lab, and we don’t dress the team up as something it isn’t. When the evidence is thin, we say so rather than guess.
